Demos & Dashboards

Interactive applications built on top of the MobilityTwin.Brussels platform, showcasing what can be achieved with Brussels' open mobility data.

STIB Speed Analysis Dashboard

stib-speed-analysis.streamlit.app

A Streamlit-powered dashboard for analyzing the speed of STIB-MIVB public transport vehicles across the Brussels region. Developed in collaboration with the CoDE lab at ULB as part of the Brussels Mobility Twin project.

Focus

Analyze specific lines, directions, and interstops over custom time periods. Compare speed evolution across years.

Insights

High-level overview of average speeds, time between stops, and key performance metrics across the network.

Trips

Visualize vehicle trips and experimental vehicle identification from STIB open data across all lines.

Belgian Public Transport Map

transit-map.share.norse.be

Every scheduled vehicle in Belgium — SNCB trains, STIB metros and trams, TEC and De Lijn buses — animated along its real route. Switch each network on or off, replay any day back to August 2024, or watch what is running now. Built by Gaspard Merten on the MobilityTwin.Brussels platform.

Four networks

SNCB, STIB, TEC and De Lijn on one map, each toggled independently. Around 70,000 trips on a weekday, drawn on their published route geometry.

Replay a day

Scrub through any date since the realtime archive began, at up to 600× speed, from the timetable published that morning.

Timetable vs reality

Put the observed positions beside where the timetable placed them, coloured by delay, with cancellations marked.

Belgian Rail Traffic

sncb-map.share.norse.be

The rail-only companion: every SNCB train routed over the real Infrabel track graph rather than straight lines between stations. Replay the published timetable, see the day as it actually ran, or follow trains live. Built by Gaspard Merten on the MobilityTwin.Brussels platform.

Real track geometry

Trains follow the Infrabel network, with each station-to-station hop routed as a shortest path over the published track segments.

Punctuality, day by day

The daily punctuality archive folded onto the timetable, so a whole day of delays and cancellations can be replayed.

Live positions

Estimated vehicle positions polled every few seconds and snapped onto the section of track the feed reports.
